Located on Harsens Island, Stewart Farm is a private wildflower farm and a Registered Michigan Historic Site. They welcome school groups and other organizations by appointment.
The farm offers a half dozen public events each year including the Wildflower Walk Weekend in August and workshops related to astronomy, invasive plant control, beekeeping, soils health, composting, etc.The farm is 53 acres of woods, marsh, fields, ponds and restored tallgrass prairie located on beautiful Harsens Island in Lake St. Clair, Michigan. Facilities at the farm include trails throughout all areas, cut fields for outdoor games, a picnic area, playground equipment, a one half mile long scale model of the solar system, old farm equipment and an indoor space for 100 people in case of inclement weather. Typical activities include bird watching, plant and animal studies, solar system model tours and ecology demonstrations.
