In 2019, the Michigan Lighthouse Festival beam is focused on the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, managed by the Port Huron Museum. Fort Gratiot Lighthouse is the first built lighthouse in Michigan, 1825, and the second oldest on the Great Lakes. It marks the entrance to the St. Clair River from Lake Huron and built to guide the increasing traffic flow of vessels through the water way in the early 1800's.
