PORT AUSTIN

Port Austin: spectacular sunrises meet the sunsets as they grace this small village on the geographical tip of Michigan’s “Thumb” where the crystalline waves of Lake Huron bathe sandy beaches and unique rock formations. Quality shops, accommodations, and restaurants await the visitor without losing that “small town” ambiance.

The Port Austin area is a photographer’s paradise with migrating birds, wildlife, picturesque farms, and winter ice formations on Lake Huron. Several public accesses are available for unequaled bass fishing and many charter boats for salmon and lake trout.

An underwater park of 19th century shipwrecks can be viewed by divers and snorkelers. Golf courses, cross country ski trails, and public hunting areas are intertwined within nature’s beauty.

This quaint village boasts one of the largest Farmers Market in the state. Lighthouses, festivals, a 1/2 mile walk along the break wall, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding and much more await the visitor to this undiscovered jewel.
